Prayer and Poverty

Hi there, friends,

I hope you have been having a great week.

We spent the last few days in Siem Reap, Cambodia seeing the ministry work of Darren and Minako Polischuk. It has been astounding to see what Jesus is doing in and through them here.

The heat is a force all its own. 38 degrees with the humidity. It quickly saps all your strength. It is amazing how the people here are acclimated to it.

We also got to visit the homes of six different families that Darren and Minako are connected with. These people live in incredible poverty. Mud floors. Open doors. Sweltering heat. They represent many of the people that the Polischuks are ministering to. We visited and prayed for blessing in their homes. It was humbling to be there knowing how lovely and wonderful our homes are back in Canada.

I hope many of you get a chance to come on a missions’ trip here or somewhere else where there is great poverty; I promise you it will change you.

These people are filled with joy despite the terrible things they have to endure. It makes me want to be more long-suffering with the troubles I face.

We have had many times of prayer and sharing with the team. God is blessing us with great unity.

We are going to visit Angkor Wat tomorrow, one of the greatest wonders of the world.

This weekend, ACC will be looking at the fifth in our series entitles “One On One”. The character that Pastor Dallas will be teaching on this week is the Mary Magdalene. You can find her story in John 20.
I hope you have a great weekend. Enjoy your time together on Sunday.

I love being your pastor.
