Pray More Together

Hi everyone,

Monday started this week with a bang. I woke up feeling a little sick to my stomach, but I still got out and exercised, which felt good. So then, as I was getting ready to leave for work, I was thinking about the statement: “It feels like a Monday”. What does that even mean? It’s the same as any other day. It’s just another day of the week. As I was thinking that, I got into my car and immediately spilled my cup of coffee all over myself.

Sigh.

Ok, I get it. I went back in, changed my clothes, and headed into the church.

Hope your week has been going well and that all your coffee spills get cleaned up.

Next January, we will be doing our Bootcamp Teaching Series around the verse, “If my people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

I was thinking about that verse and noticing that it seems as if the prayer temperature is heating up in our church. More people are committing themselves to pray either alone or in groups. It is no wonder that we are experiencing more of the Holy Spirit’s presence and power in our gatherings these days. I believe that we are going to see more people come to know Jesus as we continue to pray.

So, if you are feeling that urge to pray more, I would encourage you to lean into it. When you meet in your small groups, pray more together. When you sit with your family at mealtime, pray more together. When you have a meeting with a brother or sister in Christ, pray more together.

Our OASIS Prayer Night is coming up this next Monday, May 15th at 7:00pm. We will continue to seek the Lord for His guidance and power in our church. I would like to invite you to come. Come and pray more. Join with others as we turn our hearts toward Jesus that we might be refreshed and that we might do battle against the devil’s evil schemes and forces.

The Lord delights in hearing us pray to Him. He bends down and inclines His ear to us.

I want you to experience more of what He has in mind for you, and the best way you can do that is through prayer.

This Sunday is going to an exciting one. We are continuing in our focus on Nehemiah as well as the second anniversary of our Room to Grow campaign. Pastor Michael will be speaking, and he will be working with the team that is going to the Dominican Republic. They will be leading the service. It’s going to be fun to see them in action and to be able to pray with and for them as they prepare to go on their trip in July.

I hope your weekend goes well.

I hope you get to celebrate your mothers well on Mother’s Day this Sunday.

                I love being your pastor.
