Break Every Chain

Hi my friends,

I hope you are having a meaningful week, this week. I pray that you are growing closer to Jesus, that He is filling more of your thoughts, and that you are trusting Him with more of your life. That is where true joy and peace is found: surrendered to our Lord and Saviour.

On Monday night, we gathered for our OASIS Worship and Prayer Night. Jordan Dyck and Jenn Smith led the worship time. We sang a song called “Break Every Chain”. The lyrics were simple:

There is power in the Name of Jesus to break every chain!

Jordan asked that while we were singing this song, we should picture a situation where it seemed hopeless, where it seemed that God’s victory could never come, and then to declare over that situation that there is power in the Name of Jesus to break every chain.

I could immediately see a situation where I felt that exact hopelessness. I had prayed a lot about it before and was starting to tire in my prayers. But Jordan’s encouragement brought me back to the fact that I serve a miracle working God.

He met a man born blind and gave him sight.

He touched a little girl who was dead, and she came back to life.

He fed over 5000 people with just five loaves and two fish.

He can do incredible things. I mustn’t grow tired in my prayers. I must stay faithful. Jesus is listening and He is working. He is always at work; He is never doing nothing.

I will continue to pray for my seemingly hopeless situation. And I would encourage you to pray for your seemingly hopeless situations, as well.

There is power in the Name of Jesus to break every chain!

            Do you believe that?

What are the chains that you need broken? Are they the chains of addiction? Are they the chains of doubt? Are they the chains of laziness or rage or lust, envy or lying or hatred?

There is power in the Name of Jesus to break every chain!

I am grateful that we serve such a powerful God. He is the King of all kings and the God of all gods. There is no one greater than Him and nothing can stand against Him or stop Him from accomplishing all that He wants to accomplish.

I pray that you find encouragement in His Name today!

This weekend we are starting a brand-new series called Missions’ Mindset. We will take the month of March and look at the role of the Christian in missions, as well as the Cost, the Conflict, and the Call. I will be teaching from Romans 10:9-15 this Sunday. I hope you can be there in person or tune in online.

Have a great weekend. Love each other well. Live to please Jesus.

            I love being your pastor!
