Yield to God and Rely on Him

Hey everyone,

Thanks so much for your faithful support and prayer for ACC.  I believe that God wants to do a great work in and through us, and this will happen as we seek Him, yield to Him and rely on Him.

There is a beautiful verse in Ephesians that says,

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to His power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus, throughout all generations, for ever and ever!  Amen.

We need this. We need God to do what He imagines, not just what we imagine; to do what He hopes for and not just what we hope for.

I love the unbounded potential of what God can do.  Can you imagine the number of people that He wants to enter into a personal relationship with Him this year?  What about those who will get baptised or those who will take a step closer to Him this year?  What if all of God’s wishes came true?  What if His will really was the same here on earth, in Sylvan Lake, at ACC as it is in heaven?

This is what I pray for.  I have very little control, however, in making that happen.  My number one concern is that God’s Will will be done in my heart as it is in heaven.  And even in that, I am desperate for His strength and help.

What about you?   Are you seeking to live each day fully surrendered to Jesus?  It is as each of us do that individually that we can do that together corporately.  And that is what revival is: living each day fully surrendered to God.

Looking forward to being together with you this weekend.  We had planned a big Kick Off Celebration this weekend, but with covid numbers on the rise, we thought it would be better to postpone it for a couple of weeks and see how things shake down.   We will still be kicking off our new series “It’s Not All About Me” and I will be preaching on the topic of “loving community”.

Please pray for Khristie and Shana as both are feeling sick (Khristie was diagnosed with covid).  Pray that they get feeling better soon and that they don’t go nuts in quarantine!

I hope you have a great weekend.  If you have any prayer requests, please don’t hesitate to send them my way.  I love praying for you.

And I love being your pastor!
